At the
pre-stage of metal extraction, Metalcess provides mineralogy study, crystal
texture and elemental analysis to identify the valuable minerals and its
characteristics, facilitating the selection of extraction process and
equipment.
The
mineralogy study mainly involves Mineral Liberation Analyzer (MLA), an
equipment consists of a set of FEI scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a set
of EDAX energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS). The SEM scans the sample with a
focused beam of electrons that interact with atoms in the sample and produces certain
images readable by computer software. In combination of the image from SEM and
energy dispersion signal from EDS, the MLA analyzes such information as mineral
type, relative component and content, mineral liberation, etc. The analysis
system is very efficient and it can perform measurement on 10,000 mineral
particles within half hour. Specially, the sytem is good at searching for rare and precious metal such as gold,
silver, platinum group metals, tantalum, niobium and radiative minerals. It provides reliable and trusty data for process
design and optimization of ore beneficiation.
X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) is the device for mineral texture analysis. The X-ray from XRD interact with crystal structure and diffract into specific direction, thus identifying the atomic structure of crystal. The test is non-destructive, reliable and highly efficient.
Metalcess
carries out inductive coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES)
test to identify the mineral elemental information to ensure high accuracy, stability
and reliability.
