Waste Electrical and
Electronic Element (WEEE) is a term to cover all the items that have been
discarded without intention of re-use including spent and failed household
appliance, computer, telecommunication equipment, industrial control equipment.
Most WEEE contains 50% plus recyclable materials like metal, plastic and glass.
Specifically, IC chips and
PCB boards from computer and cellphone contain not only precious metals and
rare metals, but also non-metal like FRP containing halogenated flame
retardant and epoxy resin. The recovery of precious metal from WEEE first needs
to deal with the hazardous off-gas that contains dioxin and furan, which is
generated from the burning of nonmetal.
Metalcess provides two
recycling process for different treatment capacity.
Option 1: Breaking and
separation+ rotatory reverberatory furnace refining + anode casting +
electro-refining + anode slime recovery. Nonmetal and metal are separated
before smelting to avoid generation of dioxin and furan. Minimal capacity
500kg/batch. Anode product suitable for electro-refining, no anode passivation.
Recovery rate of precious and rare metal is higher than 97%.
Option 2: TBRC smelting and
refining + anode casting + electro-refining + anode slime treatment. Delicate
designed off-gas treatment for decomposing and absorbing the generation of
dioxin and furan (<0.1ng TEQ/Nm3 in the treated off-gas before
discharging to air). Minimal capacity 1t/batch. Anode product suitable for
electro-refining, no anode passivation. Recovery rate of precious and rare
metal is higher than 99%.
