Oxygen-enriched Side Blowing Furnace is developed based on
Vanyukov Smelting Process. Compared with Vanyukov smelting process, the side
blowing smelting technology, to meet with the recent requirement, has made
improvements on the design of energy conservation, utilization of off-gas waste
heat, acid-making from high concentration SO2 and automation control, etc. The
oxygen-enriched side blowing furnace, is widely applied for copper/lead/nickel, zinc leaching residue/ lead scrap, etc..
In copper metallurgy, material to side-blowing furnace varies from copper oxide ore, copper sulfide ore and copper-nickel sulfide concentrate to black copper, copper scrap, WEEE, electronic waste, zinc leaching residue, etc.
The side blowing furnace has the advantages of less energy consumption, high utilization rate of oxygen and producing less off-gas amount with high SO2 concentration.
Characteristics
1. Feed material copper grade as low as 10% and moisture up to 8% can be directly smelt;
2. Up-to-date forged copper jacket guarantees high safety for furnace operation and long campaign life;
3. Continuous smelting and converting/reduction process, high automated operation, stable SO2 content (12-18%) in off-gas in favor of acid-making;
4. Oxygen content ≥70% used for smelting to achieve large productivity above 120t/ (m2.d);
5. Flexible switch autothermal or semi-autothermal mode to match with feed material enthalpy value, flexible production loading;
6. Consumption reduced to 140kgce per ton blister copper;
7. Fully-insulated process without ladle transfer, minimized fugitive emission and environment pollution.
8. Less metal content (<0.3%) in smelting slag from setting furnace, granulated and sold out directly without flotation;
9. Low fume rate, about 0.5-1.5%.
