Copper electrorefining mainly produce LME Cu-CATH-1 copper cathode and byproduct anode slime from copper anode. Metalcess develops mini scale copper ER from 1T/d copper electrorefining system with modular design/easy installation, saving installation instruction cost and optimizing your return on investment.
The copper anode and stainless steel cathode forming into pair are placed in the electrolytic cell. Voltage is applied across the anode-cathode pair to stimulate copper ions to get electrons and deposit on the cathode surface. Copper loaded cathodes are periodically stripped. The precious metal from copper anode reports to anode slime setting down to the cell bottom.
As the electro-refining process going, electrolyte requires regular purification to remove impurities like As, Sb, Bi accumulated in the electrolyte, negatively influencing the cathode quality.
Apart from traditional electrolyte purification method, Metalcess also provides cyclone electro-winning for high efficient metal extraction (efficiency>85%) and impurities removal. It produces standard copper cathode from electrolyte with Cu2+content above 8g/l, and the remaining copper is recovered as black copper.
The electrorefining workshop is equipped with the following sub-systems including anode shaping and preparing units, automatic crane, copper cathode stripping & washing and packing machine, stainless steel cathode plate cleaning and preparing unit, anode scrap washing and packing unit, short-circuit monitoring system, etc. The whole system is governed by central control computer for mutual coordination.
