Rotary Reverberatory Furnace (Anode Furnace)


Description

Rotary reverberatory furnace, also named as anode furnace, is especially used to treat copper scrap (Cu 92% and above) to get copper anode (Cu 99%), which can be further purified by electrorefining to produce 99.99% Cu cathode. The copper cathode can be processed by upward casting machine to standard copper rod.  The furnace has  the function of melting, refining and casting.  The capacity can be minimal 1t/batch.  

The furnace mainly consists of furnace body, supporting frame, driving device, refractories, heating and combustion, control system and refining system. It uses LPG or LNG as fuel and refining agent. In large capacity application (5t/b above), diesel can also be used for refining agent. 

Energy consumption: LNG 100-120m3/t.copper scrap  or  LPG 50-60m3/t.copper scrap 


Characteristics

1.    Delicate and compact design with integrated smelting functions. Smelting, converting and refining is performed in one furnace instead of several furnace that is required by conventional process. It is flexible to small capacity, extremely advantageous for small scale production.

2.    Long campaign life, steel furnace shell lined with insulated layer and refractory brick ensures better operation safety and lower energy consumption; 

3.    Rich oxygen content used for combustion to achieve high heat efficiency and utilization rate.

4.    Low quantity of gas emissions if oxygen-enriched fuel combustion system is used.

5.    Copper scrap to anode, all process in one furnace, no need transfer, minimized fugitive emission and equipment investment.
