Filter press is used for solid-liquid separation of various suspending liquid in intermittent pressure filtration. It can be divided into horizontal type and vertical type.

Horizontal type mainly indicates chamber filter press. The filter plates are pressed by pressing devices to form a chamber and suspending liquid is pumped into the filter chamber. Solid particles and liquid are separated through filter cloth. After filtration, the filter cake can be washed or dried in the filter chamber.

Metalcess provides membrane chamber filter press to treat high viscosity liquid. Apart from primary filtration, high pressure air is injected into the membrane to further squeeze the filter cake to reduce water content in the filter cake. For efficient filter cake unloading, the filter press is designed with vibrating device against the filter plate. The filter cloth is washed and cleaned after one filtration cycle, to enhance filtrating effect and increase service lifetime of filter cloth. Several materials are available to meet the high requirements of metallurgy industry for good resistance to high temperature and high corrosion.
