Gold electro-refining is taken place in FRPP electrolysis cell. Crude gold casting plate is used as anode while high purity gold plate is used as cathode. Gold ER uses chloride solution and free hydrochloric acid as electrolyte. Particularly, the gold anode is folded in a cloth bag in operation in order to collect anode slime and avoid contamination to gold cathode. After certain plating period, the gold cathode is replaced by new cathode plate. The electro-refined gold cathode is melt and cast into high purity gold ingot (99.99%).
Crude gold (grade 99%) from pyro-metallurgical chlorination process, silver-containing gold powder from copper/anode slime by silver electro-refining and other crude gold from recycling projects, are melt and cast into gold anode for electro-refining to obtain high purity gold.
